FUEiNT Technologies is a software studio in Coimbatore, India, building custom software since 2014. This HTML beautifier is one of the small tools we built for our own client work and publish free: it runs entirely in your browser, and asks for no account and no email address.
No account, no address, no watermark and no daily limit. There is no sign-up step because there is nothing to sign up to.
The formatting runs in the page itself. Your markup never reaches a server of ours, because there is no server of ours for it to reach.
Switch the language and the same panel formats a stylesheet instead, putting each rule and declaration back on its own line.
Pick the indent width your project already uses, so what comes out drops straight back into your codebase.

How it works
- Pick the language
HTML or CSS. The choice decides both which formatter runs and what your input is checked against, so switching it clears the output.
- Paste the code
A whole page, a fragment, a minified bundle or a stylesheet. Nothing is sent anywhere while you type, or after you stop.
- Choose the indent
Two spaces, four or eight. Two is the default, and Start over puts it back.
- Beautify, then copy
The formatted code appears on the right with line numbers, wrapped rather than cut off. Copy takes it to your clipboard; Expand grows the box when the file is long.

What beautifying actually does
It changes whitespace, and only whitespace. The formatter reads your markup, works out how deep each element is nested, and prints it back with one element to a line at the indent you chose. Nothing is renamed, no attribute is reordered, no tag is added and none is removed.
HTML lines are also wrapped at 80 characters, so a tag carrying a dozen attributes breaks across several lines instead of running off the side of the screen. Newlines you put in yourself are kept rather than collapsed — a blank line between two sections stays a blank line.
Why minified files exist, and why you still have to read them
Build tools strip every space and newline out of HTML and CSS before shipping them, because those bytes are paid for on every request. The result is correct and unreadable: one enormous line that no browser cares about and no person can follow.
That is usually the file you are handed when something has gone wrong on a live site — a view-source dump, a snippet pulled out of a CMS field, a theme stylesheet nobody has the source for. Getting it indented is the first step to being able to see what is in it.
One thing to watch in HTML
Whitespace is not always meaningless in HTML. Between inline elements — spans, anchors, images sitting side by side — a newline renders as a single space, so re-indenting a tightly packed row of them can shift what is on screen by a space. It is exactly why minifiers strip that whitespace in the first place.
Inside a pre or a textarea, whitespace is the content. The formatter leaves the contents of both alone. Anywhere else that spacing matters to you, compare the output against the original before you ship it.
What it will refuse
Before formatting, the tool checks that the input looks like the language you picked: HTML has to contain at least one tag, CSS at least one rule with braces around it. If it does not, you get a warning instead of output, rather than a mangled file.
The check is deliberately loose. It is there to catch pasting CSS into HTML mode, not to validate your document — broken markup still gets formatted, it simply gets formatted as it is, brokenly.
Why we publish it
We read other people’s markup constantly: inherited themes, exported templates, a client’s live page that nobody has the source for. This is the box we paste it into. It costs us nothing to run, so it is free and it stays free.

Is it actually free?
Yes. No account, no email address, no watermark and no limit on how much you put through it. Nothing on this page is a trial of anything.
Do you keep the code I paste?
We never receive it. The formatting happens inside your browser, so there is no upload, no copy on a server and nothing for us to keep or delete.
Can it beautify JavaScript, JSON or PHP?
No. This tool does HTML and CSS only. Paste anything else and it will either fail the input check or be treated as markup, which is not what you want.
Will beautifying change how my page looks?
Almost never, and only in one way: adding newlines between inline elements that were packed together can add a space between them on screen. Nothing else about the document changes.
Why does it say my input does not look like valid HTML?
Either the box is empty, or you are in the wrong mode — CSS pasted into HTML mode trips it every time. Switch the language and press Beautify again.
What indent widths can I choose?
Two, four or eight spaces. Two is the default. Tabs are not an option here.
What happens to very long lines?
HTML is wrapped at 80 characters as it is formatted, and the output box wraps anything still too long rather than scrolling sideways. Expand makes the box taller for long files.
Does it work offline?
Once the page has loaded, yes. Nothing after that point needs a connection.
